This is the first time in 3 years that I’ve lost all my enthusiasm and drive to pick up my Camera. Hopefully just a short drop in motivation!!!
I’ve got lots on the horizon to look forward to though, starting with the UK Indoor Athletics Championships next month and a presentation about my Sports Photography to the Rolls Royce Derby Photographic Society. Some more boxing and Cyclo-Cross on the calendar over the next few weeks as well.
I’ve got 2 weddings to look forward to in the summer too which is exciting!. Such an important role as a photographer and one that takes a lot of planning, preparation and work.
I also need to catch up with my Diploma with the British Academy of Photography and also prepare 10 photos for a submission to the Royal Photographic Society Licentiate.
I do wonder if the competition side is for me, I think it’s good in some ways in terms of constructive critiques from experts and those with more experience, but it can cause demotivation in other ways.
Where now… dust my self off, make a plan, pick up my camera and rediscover the ❤️ for photography.
Ive got a Cycling challenge to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK this year. I will be riding the coast to coast route from Whitehaven to Tynemouth, a tough route from the Irish Sea to the North Sea via the hills of the Lake District. Im doing it self supported and carrying all my kit for 4 days on my Mountain Bike. This will give some great photograpy opportunities and lots of material for a monthly Blog.
